One of my all-time favourite snaps of my Dad and my son Jesse. In the aftermath of Christmas dinner, this photo speaks to me of the warmth, the comfort and the love that is – or should always be – at the core of family life.
Families can be defined in so many different ways, all legitimate and all with their own intrinsic values. But common to them all are the enduring bonds that transcend time and adversity, that sustain and nurture, and that provide the centrepiece of one’s relationship with the world.
They are one of nature’s greatest creations.
